Friends of State Parks is a nonprofit citizen organization supporting, promoting, and advocating for the North Carolina State Park system as a whole. It exercises its private sector nonprofit abilities to add value to the state parks system in areas where government action may be restricted.
North Carolina Recreation & Park Association
Founded in 1944, the North Carolina Recreation & Park Association is the premier nonprofit education and advocacy organization, dedicated to the advancement of the park, recreation, and leisure professions in the state. NCRPA empowers park and recreation professionals and citizen board members through educational opportunities that enhance their ability to change lives and impact communities daily for the citizens of North Carolina.
NC PATH
Parks and Trails for Health – PATH – is a new initiative designed to encourage physical activity in North Carolina’s parks, greenways, and other outdoor spaces. PATH connects people to nature by promoting physical activity, fostering an appreciation for the life-sustaining role of parks and natural areas, promoting diverse experiences and voices in the outdoors, and helping people lead healthier and happier lives.
